Graduation Timeline and FAQ
So, you’re about to graduate—congratulations!
If you are on the final leg of your Valar journey, below you can find the answers to some frequently asked questions about graduation that you may find helpful.
Countdown to Graduation
Let's go over several points along the timeline toward your graduation. Be sure to check your program schedule for exact dates!
One month before graduation | PROGRAM ENDS The program officially ends about a month before graduation. Please refer to this article about what needs to be done in order to be eligible for Honors distinction. PAY YOUR TUITION IN FULL Make sure all tuition balances are paid before graduation day. If you have not explicitly requested an extension or feel that you won’t be able to meet graduation requirements prior to your cohort’s graduation date, please reach out to an Academic Advisor academicadvising@quantic.edu as soon as possible to avoid losing access to the platform. |
Day of graduation | EMAIL NOTIFICATION If you have successfully completed and passed all of your program's graduation requirements, you will receive an email notifying you that your final results have been calculated. This email does not include your final scores/results. UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS You can see your final score by requesting an unofficial copy of your Valar transcript via email at registrar@valar.quantic.edu. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS Once you receive your graduation email, you can order an official transcript from National Student Clearinghouse for a small fee. You can order a hardcopy to be mailed to you, or you can order a digital copy. |
Week of graduation | GRADUATION CELEBRATIONS (virtual) A few days after the graduation date, Valar staff will host optional virtual Graduation Celebration events. Invitations to sign up for these events will be sent out in the weeks leading up to graduation. |
One week after graduation | DIPLOMAS Please review Diploma Policies & FAQs here. Following graduation, diploma information is uploaded to Parchment, a third party vendor. All students will receive a digital copy of their diploma; instructions for accessing this will be sent in an email from Parchment to whichever email is listed in your Valar account. If you don’t see an email from Parchment in your regular inbox, please check your Spam and Promotions folders. |
Two to four weeks after you receive the email from Parchment | A physical copy of the document is shipped from Parchment to the address listed on your student Valar account. The shipping timeline depends on your location, but please be aware that shipment of diplomas can take 45 days or more. The first physical copy is complimentary. Requests for additional copies of your diploma, available for a small fee, can be made via email to registrar@valar.quantic.edu. |
Other FAQs
What happens if I don’t complete my coursework in time to graduate?
If you are close to finishing your course requirements, but won’t finish in time to graduate on schedule, you can request an extension beyond your cohort’s graduation date by reaching out to one of our Academic Advisors at academicadvising@quantic.edu. Once you’ve completed your coursework, we will process your graduation!
If you have not specifically requested an extension or feel that you will not be able to meet graduation requirements prior to your cohort’s graduation date, please reach out to Academic Advising as soon as possible to avoid losing access to the platform.
- Option A for closing: As long as you haven’t reached your two-deferral limit or your three-year timeline limit, you can defer to an ongoing cohort by emailing an Academic Advisor.
- Option B for closing: You can review your available options that take into consideration any previous deferrals and your 3 year timeline to degree completion by emailing an Academic Advisor.
How will I know if I achieved Honors?
If you have achieved Honors, it will be reflected in the the email you receive on graduation day and on your student dashboard. Students' transcripts will read "WITH HONORS" next to the degree conferred for those who earn the distinction. Honors distinction will not appear on your diploma.
Apart from the Honors distinction, as Valar operates on a pass/fail basis, there are no class or personal ranks to provide. Please note that all grades are percentage-based, and not issued as letter grades or GPA.

What are the Graduation Celebrations like?
Graduation Celebration virtual events are designed to celebrate your cohort's incredible accomplishments. We host three Zoom sessions where we will read the names of all those who successfully graduate on time. You're welcome to attend the one that suits your schedule. Students are not required to have formal attire, and are welcome to creatively "show up" to the virtual event. Friends, family, and colleagues are welcome to join as well!
Which Valar student resources will I have access to after graduation?
If you complete and graduate from the program, you will maintain access to Valar courses, along with new courses that we develop in the future. If you do not graduate from the program, you will not maintain access.
After you graduate, you will no longer have access to your Valar student email address or to the databases available on the Library Services tab of your Resources page.
How do I stay in touch with the Valar community after graduation?
Valar alumni retain access to the Network, where you can search for and connect with members of the Valar community, as well as view and register for a variety of Valar and Quantic networking events. You will continue to have access to almost all engagement events, both in-person and virtual.
